The objective of the WiFi Internet service is to make Kankakee the WiFi “Hot Spot” for local users and businesses. The second objective is to place Kankakee ahead of other cities to attract new customers, visitors and businesses to our community. Beta testing started in December of 2005. Currently we have finalized multiple hotspot access points in the downtown area and we are ready to expand our horizons throughout the community. Currently users are able to request a free account for up to 15 hours of free Internet Service per month. This account can be established at the WiFi Kankakee website at: http://www.wifikankakee.com/ as a sponsor your logo will scroll across the top of the home page under the statement - Free WiFi access is being provided by the following sponsors . We recommend that the cost of the sponsorship is $300.00 per year unless your business chooses to donate above and beyond the recommended amount. This will give you the advertisement on the Home Page and will let local users, businesses, visitors, and potential new customers know that you are an integral part of this project!
